Despite many ATEX motors still circulating in Europe are offered with energy efficiency ratings as low as IE2 or even IE1, still considering the old exception stated by the Art. 1 of thereplaced EU Regulation 640/2009, the latest EU Regulation 2019/1781 mandates the following min efficiency for ALL motors, no matter if for safe area or ATEX:
From 2021 to 2023, an exception was made only for "Ex eb" ATEX motors like Motive’s. However, this exception was removed as of July 2023, and, anyway, Motive never cared about this exception. A surviving exception is instead the one of the motors for inverter power supply (i.e. not for direct in line)
Motive’s Delphi Ex motors have been ahead of the curve for years, meeting, since many years ago, not only the 2021 standards but also the stricter 2023 requirements. Also certified for use with frequency converters, our Delphi Ex motors have always available in the newly required min efficiency classes, ensuring compliance, durability, and superior performance.
